If I had to sum myself up in 6 words: husband, daddy, fun-loving, loyal, dedicated, smiling. If I had 3 more words I'd add "Uber Mac Geek".
I have a bit of a soft spot for video games, I have had one since I was about 4 when I got my first computer (the Vic 20); and taught myself how to write basic programs. I can't say all my time is spent in computers though, often in the summer you will find me off in Invermere on the weekends and skiing (nordic and alpine) in the winters.

I make web sites, widgets, gadgets, applications, all kinds of stuff, and I do a pretty good job at it I'm told. What I really excel at is working with internal and external teams to build these things, on time, budget, and at a high standard of quality. (oh, and have fun doing it)
Often I am called upon to be the glue between different groups, and facilitate a common lanaguage of communication. I have a good deal of experience co-ordinating and leading internal teams, 3rd party and client teams.

Leadership
Here are a few of the 'utilities' at my disposal when working in a leadership role:
- experience: understanding what can go wrong in a project so you can mitigate the technical risk.
- communication: I am able to communicate clearly to both a technical and non-technical audience.
- creative eye: Understanding the technical and business requirements of a project is only a part of the equation. If the technical team has a good understanding the nuances of a design, the creative vision of the designers and clients can be fully realized.
- loyalty: I always try to create a balance between the company's, the client's and the employee's best interests. Staying loyal to all these parties makes for a better environment for all to work in.

Currently I work at Critical Mass, an interactive focused marketing agency based in Calgary, Canada. As a technical lead, I am often called upon to work with clients and our own teams to solve complex business problems faced by our clients. Previous to my experience as a development manager I spent may years working as a manager in the hospitality industry where I honed my client and employee relationship skills.
